- Battery Pack – Fully integrated, custom-designed 36V 7Ah (Blurby Bike) or 10Ah (Blurby Bike Max, Blurby Bike W, Blurby Gravel) battery pack with the highest quality premium battery cells by LG and Panasonic.
- Motor Assist range – The motor-assisted driving range is approximately 50 km (Blurby Bike) or 75 km (Blurby Max, Blurby W, Blurby Gravel) in one charge under normal circumstances. It can be significantly reduced while riding uphill or in freezing weather or only with the highest motor assist level. To maintain the battery for as long as possible, use lower motor assist levels.
- Battery lifespan – Approximately 40 000 km or 700 cycles. After 700 cycles, the battery reduces to 70%.
- Running out of battery – If the battery has been completely exhausted, the e-bike will still function as a regular bicycle. There is no additional resistance when pedaling an e-bike without a motor.
- Battery Pack replacement – The battery pack on your Blurby E-Bike can be replaced at any time at an authorized service center. If the battery’s capacity falls below 70% within two years, it can be replaced under warranty. If you want to upgrade your battery pack after the warranty has expired, you can contact us. We always have replacement batteries in stock. In this case, you will be invoiced for the cost of the replacement battery, which is 300 EUR.
- Weather impact on the battery – Cold weather can temporarily reduce the battery’s capacity, but it will not have a long-term effect on the battery’s capacity under normal circumstances. It is not allowed to charge the battery at temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius.
- Storage – It is recommended to keep the e-bike indoors during the winter months when temperatures are below freezing. This will help to protect the battery from the cold weather and ensure that it continues to work properly.
- Motor – The motor in the Blurby E-Bike is a brushless DC Aikema 250W hub motor. The hub motor has a strong torque output of 50 Nm. This type of motor is known for its efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance requirements.
- Pedelec – The Blurby E-Bike is a pedelec, which means that it is an electric bike that is powered by a motor that is activated by pedaling. When you pedal, the torque sensor will detect your pedaling, and the motor will assist you. The motor assist has a limit of 25 km/h. The motor assist will automatically increase when you are going uphill and decrease when you are going downhill, providing you with an optimal riding experience.
- Torque sensor – The Blurby E-Bike has an integrated angle torque sensor used to determine the speed and direction of rotation. This allows the bike to accurately detect your pedaling and provide the appropriate level of motor assistance. The torque sensor is an essential component of the bike’s overall design, as it helps to ensure that the motor assist is smooth and responsive.
- Hub motor noise – The hub motor on the Blurby E-Bike is designed to be quiet, operating at a noise level of less than 50 dB.
- Display – The display on the Blurby E-Bike shows the motor assist levels (ranging from 0 to 5), which can be adjusted using the up and down buttons. Level 0 means no motor assist, and levels 1 to 5 indicate increasing levels of motor assist power. The display also shows your current speed, motor assist level, and battery charge level. You can turn the display on and off using the button on the top of the display. If the display is turned off for at least 10 minutes, the battery will enter power-saving mode and cannot be turned on again using the display. To wake up the battery and turn it on again, you will need to use the power button located below the top tube of the bike.
- Power button – The power button for the Blurby E-Bike’s battery is located on the bottom of the top tube, next to the charge port. To turn on the battery, press the power button for 1 second. The battery is turned on when the blue LED light around the button lights up. Once the battery is on, you can use the button on the display to turn it on. To turn off the battery, hold the power button for 6 seconds. The battery is turned off when the blue LED light around the button turns off.
- Charging – The charge port for the Blurby E-Bike’s battery is on the bottom side of the top tube, next to the power button. It takes approximately 6 hours to charge the battery fully. When the battery is charging, a red indicator light on the charger will turn on. When the battery is fully charged or is not charging, the indicator light will turn green. The optimal temperature for charging the battery is between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius. Charging the battery at temperatures outside this range can damage the battery and void the warranty.
- GPS Tracking – Blurby E-bikes have not got GPS tracking built in because this feature would be an extra drain to the battery of the ebike. For GPS tracking we advise to use an Apple Airtag or any other equivalent product.
- Bike Frame – Blurby ebikes are available in multiple different frame sizes for people from 140 cm to 205 cm. The exact frame sizes and frame size charts can be seen on the product page of each Blurby Bike ebike.
- Belt Drive System – Blurby Bike, Blurby Bike Max and Blurby Bike W e-bikes are equipped with a single-speed belt drive system that has been custom-designed by Blurby Bike. The rear sprocket is made of stainless steel and the fron sprocket is made of lightweight aluminium. The entire system is covered by an extended 5-year warranty.
- Chain Drive System – Blurby Gravel ebike is equipped with 10- speed Shimano Chain drive. The grear changers are Shimano Tiagra brake levers.
- Tires – All Blurby ebikes are equipped with 42mm 42-622 Mitas/Rubena Anti-puncture tires. The recommended tire pressure is 4-5 bar. The maximum tire width for Blurby ebikes is 50 mm.
- Maximum rider’s weight – Blurby Bike is designed to support a maximum user weight of 130 kilograms. This means that the bike is capable of safely carrying riders who weigh up to 130 kilograms, including the weight of any clothing, accessories, and other items that the rider may be carrying. If you weigh more than 130 kilograms, you may be able to ride the bike, but it may not fully support your weight, and you may experience difficulty with stability or performance.
- Hub Motor Speed Limit – In compliance with EU-wide pedelec (e-bike) regulations, the maximum motor assist speed on Blurby e-bikes is 25 km/h. All Blurby e-bikes are shipped with this speed limit, and it cannot be increased either before or after the purchase. This speed limit is in place to ensure the safety and legal compliance of Blurby Bike e-bikes, and it cannot be changed by Blurby or any other party.
- Unboxing – For ease of shipping, the pedals have been disassembled from the bike, and the handlebar turned 90 degrees. Both wheels are fully assembled and mounted on the bike. Here are the steps to unbox and assemble your bike:
- Carefully remove the bike from the box and place it on a stable, flat surface.
- Remove any packaging materials and protective padding from the bike.
- Locate the pedals, which should be packed separately in a small box.
- Attach the pedals to the bike using the wrench. Make sure to tighten them securely.
- Adjust the handlebar to the desired angle, making sure it is securely tightened in place.
- Check that the wheels are securely attached to the bike and that the tire pressure is correct.
- Once you have completed these steps, your bike is ready to ride!
- Accessories – In addition to the Blurby E-Bike, you will find in the box the user manual and the tools for the final assembly of the bike.
- Assembly time – The final assembly involves attaching the pedals to the bike and turning the handlebar by 90 degrees. It should not take more than 10 minutes.
Take good care of your bike. For repairs, it is best to turn to a qualified bike shop or Blurby E-Bike. It is recommended to service your bike in a bike shop before and after the riding season.
- Maintenance schedule – We recommend regular maintenance to be carried out once a year or every 2000 km, whichever comes first. This will help ensure that your e-bike stays in good working condition and performs at its best.
- Belt drive system – The belt drive system on your Blurby E-Bike e-bike requires regular care and maintenance. Check the belt tension regularly and clean it as needed to prevent wear and damage.
- Tires – The tires on your bike are an essential part of its performance and safety. Check the tire pressure regularly, and make sure to use the correct pressure as indicated on the tire. In icy or subzero conditions, it is recommended to use winter tires to provide improved grip and stability. Keep in mind that tires are consumables and will need to be replaced periodically.
- Hydraulic disc brakes – The hydraulic disc brakes on your Blurby E-Bike e-bike are robust and reliable, but they require regular care and maintenance to perform at their best. Clean and adjust your brakes regularly, and check for wear and tear on the brake pads. Take note of any changes in braking distance over time, and replace the brake pads promptly when needed.
- Battery – Please do not leave the bicycle battery empty for an extended amount of time for example in winter. The battery should be charged to full before the bike is left without use for a longer period of time. If the battery is empty for an extended period of time then the charge level at individual battery cells can get so low that it is not possible to safely charge the battery pack back up. We will identify this issue immediatley during the servicing of the bike and in that case the battery repair or replacement will not be done under warranty. Therefore it is essential to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge at all times. It is recommended to charge the battery every two months, even if the bike is not in use, to keep it in good condition. After returning from a ride in cold weather, it is best to wait for the bike to warm up slightly before charging the battery.
- Electronics – The electronics on your Blurby E-Bike are custom designed by Blurby. In case of any problems with the electronics, it is best to turn directly to Blurby or an authorized reseller for assistance. Do not attempt to repair the electronics on your own, as this can void the warranty.
- Performing maintenance – It is important to only perform maintenance on your bike if you feel confident and competent in doing so. If you are unsure or have any doubts, it is best to turn to a qualified bike shop or Blurby for assistance.
- Cleaning – The bike should not be cleaned using steam, high-pressure water, or a water hose. Instead, use wet wipes to clean the bike, taking care not to damage any sensitive parts or components.
